Slightly further afield, Why not visit Cirencester
(11 miles), home of one of the most famous Roman settlements,
still boasting a Roman amphitheatre. There are several
museums including the Corinium Museum, together with
antique shops, and of course many restaurants and pubs! Also
worth a Visit, Bibury Trout Farm (north of Cirencester),
a pretty place where you can catch your own trout for lunch!
At nearby Tetbury, (home to royalty) you may glimpse
Prince Charles. Failing that, Tetbury is world famous
for antique shopping. For more comprehensive shopping, Swindon
(8 miles) is a shopper's paradise with it's Great Western
Designer Outlet Village. It is also home to the Great Western
Railway Museum, whilst Fairford (12 miles) is home
to the International Air Tattoo.
There are many historical places to visit; Grand Old Houses,
Parks, Manors, Abbeys and even Castles, with National Heritage
Sites, such as Stonehenge, Avebury and Silbury
Hill all within easy travelling distance.
The area is also famous for the Badminton and Gatcombe
International Horse Trials and just a short drive away
are Longleat Safari Park and the town of Cheltenham.
There are various other Country
shows and fairs throughout the year. If you'd like further
information please ask!
